Driving Change: Sport & Charity

Last week Andy Kaye, our Account Manager, took part in a golfing event organised by M&S Bank.

Held at Formby Hall Golf Resort, Southport, it was the Bank’s second annual golfing event. All proceeds for the event get donated to The Youth Federation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of young people across the North West through various groups, programs and schemes. About 100 business owners and managers from across the North West attended to show support.

After a brief welcome breakfast at the resort, the entrants were divided into small groups and invited to practice their swing on the driving range.

18 holes and a bit of sunburn later, the entrants returned to Formby Hall for an evening meal and, as per tradition, some business networking and drinks. The day was topped off with a charity auction.

The event was a huge success and all involved can’t wait for next year!

Over the weekend Andy took part in another charity event, again raising money for The Youth Federation.

Based in Ellesmere Port, the Sport in the Port activity day attracted over 1000 people. Sport in the Port was created to encourage healthy living and fitness amongst all people across the North West, with special focus on families. As such, the event catered for all fitness levels, offering a fun run for kids, a 5k race, and a 10k race for more serious runners.

Of course, being always up for a challenge, our Andy took on the 10k. Out of everyone who competed, Andy came a great 367th with a time of 53 minutes.

Andy enjoyed his time at the events and thanks everyone involved:

"The Youth Federation is doing some fantastic work to help young people in the local community, and we’re delighted to be helping them to continue this work. Both the golf and Sport in the Port were great fun to be a part of. Thanks to all!"

Chester CrossFit sponsored Sport in the Port and continues to build a strong relationship with The Youth Federation- as do we!
