In this first in a series of interviews we will be asking our clients to tell us more about their online businesses, their opinion of online marketing and what they hope to achieve for their business in the longer term. Peter Vale is the owner of Jonjoben beds, a major beds and bedroom store in Wrexham,  North Wales.


Peter, for those who haven’t heard of Wrexham beds store, Jonjoben, can you give us some background  on your company?

Yes sure, Jonjoben was created to run in parallel to my shop in Acrefair. As Jonjoben was evolving into more than just beds in Wrexham into a multi-line retailer increasing its offering from beds and mattresses to furniture there became a need to offer these goods to the wider public and also in an e-commerce format.

We have been working with Fotofire for about 5 years and with Leah’s fantastic new design, Advice from Phil on how to structure things, Ben’s competence with IT skills Jonjoben was born

As a business owner what do you consider to be your greatest success?

Giving customers what they want and getting positive feedback. I enjoy regularly exceeding people’s expectations in an increasingly demanding world.

On a scale of one to ten how important is the Internet and your company website to your business?

10! It gives me the opportunity and platform to market ourselves to a much larger audience in an extremely cost effective way.

Do you have any favourite websites, if so what are they?

I like the F1 website, but to be honest I don’t get an awful lot of free time to browse through other websites!

How have you found your first few months experimenting with social media marketing?

Very interesting. Whilst I am not personally ‘hands on’ with every blog or article we publish, it is giving us a good return on our investment and helping to raise our profile dramatically in a very cost effective way, as opposed to say, pay per click

How do you see your business developing in the future?

Jonjoben will continue to look for selected importers and suppliers to work with who share our values and vision on customer service, quality, value for money and design. The site will grow and evolve in a controlled manner to help us achieve our medium to long-term growth targets. I am actually about to confirm a job offer I have just made to a lady who will head up the sales and customer service team to help me achieve these objectives!
